Good morning! It's way too early for my liking :(
This week was kind of remarkable, as I gained a pound while doing Jillian at the beginning of the week, then proceeded to lose 3 after going back to Zumba. So keeping this short and sweet :) 3lbs down, 28 to go! Now if only every week could be so productive! I know it won't. Sad face.

Challenge Failed.
Yes yes, I am giving up on the 30 Day Shred. Let me tell you why:
1. Thighs hurting so bad that I can barely go up and down the stairs of my house doesn't work for me. I move a lot at my workplace, too so not being able to walk quickly isn't gonna work for 30 days.
2. After doing Zumba: Cardio Party today, loving the instructor is huge. Jillian was full of excuses and not doing the moves half the time, yet she talked about how you have to "fight" for it. Beto is there doing the moves more intensely than the rest of the group. He loves what he's doing, and in return you kind of end up loving it too.
3. Did I mention that I could barely move after doing Jillian? With Zumba, you're getting a much more effective workout, you're burning triple the calories, and you feel awesome the next day.
I love a challenge, but when it effects how I live in a drastic way... I'm sorry but no. Yeah, I know it looks like I'm here making excuses, but I'm still working out 5x a week. I'm just going to burn a couple DVDs later.
Also, once my boyfriend moves down, I'm hoping I can convince him to go out walking with me on the trail. :D That'd be awesome.

30 Day Shred Day 2
This morning my thighs barely wanted to move. I was sore EVERYWHERE, but I was still strangely determined to do it again. So I did! I almost decided to take a day off from Jillian and do Zumba Flat Abs, but I said no. I made myself a challenge and I will stick to it! If I workout at all it shall be Jillian!
I was AMAZED with how much my endurance grew overnight. I did not feel out of breath at all, but it was still challenging. Still, i wasn't able to work harder, as my thighs refused to do more than the low intensity version of all the moves. I'm hoping that I will be less sore tomorrow, and able to work myself a little harder. Still irritated with how much she talks and that I can't skip her spiel at the beginning of the video.

Time For a Challenge. 30 Day Shred Day 1
I have done Zumba for almost a year now. It has done AMAZING things for me. I have been walking from the start of this diet. (January 2010) But I think I'm up for trying a challenge. I have a couple Biggest Loser workout DVDs collecting dust. They are 30 day programs (definitely not a life-workout, by any means.) and I think it's time one got dusted off. I'm challenging myself to do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred (of course, I intend to take a couple days off a week. I don't workout more than 5 times a week, I don't think thats long-term healthy) So everyday I'm going to post a review of how i'm doing with my endurance and how I feel my body's reacting to it. For the good or bad.
Day 1 - Holy crap. I wanted to die. It's been a LONG time since I've pushed myself like that. I'm excited that I lived and kind of excited to see if it's any easier tomorrow. But geez louise she talks too much. haha!

Never Gonna Keep Me Down
Hi, I am what one might call a weight loss success story. I lost over 60lbs going from about 240 - 180. Obviously a story incomplete. I found my old blog daunting and intimidating to look how easily I lost pound after pound through the year of 2010. A lot happened to me in 2011 and the year is far from over. I moved across country, travelled, gained a boyfriend, had many many many visits and opportunity to break from my strict Weight Watchers diet, and in the end the 5 days a week workout habit and motivation, no, need to diet was simply lost. Yes, a lot of this was my own fault, and I want to lose 30 more lbs and finish what I started. But I cannot try to "get back to -65" any longer. I'm starting fresh.
